Permaculture Calgary AGM
Notice of Annual General Meeting!
Hello everyone,
This is a reminder that the Permaculture Calgary AGM is taking place this Tuesday, July 5th at 6:30 pm at the Unitarian Church of Calgary (1703 - 1 Street NW). We are also delighted to announce that Sam Comfort of Anarchy Apiaries will be giving a free keynote presentation on beekeeping immediately following the nomination and voting process (please see below for his bio).
Although it's not a potluck per say, please feel welcome to bring snacks to share with the group (and include an ingredients list if you do!).
A few more important details about the AGM:
- The Permaculture Calgary Guild will be electing a five person executive to oversee the operations of the the PCG for a one year term. Election guidelines and nomination forms can be found on the Permaculture Calgary website.
- The Permaculture Calgary Guild's Bylaws can be reviewed before the AGM and are also found on the Permaculture Calgary website.
- Nominations can be submitted at the AGM. Candidates need not be present in order to be on the ballot, however, they may wish to prepare a very brief address for someone else to read on their behalf.
You must be a member to vote. Memberships will be available for purchase at the AGM - cash or cheque only.
About Sam Comfort: Not only is he the largest scale Top Bar Hive beekeeper in North America, Sam is unconventional, approachable, well-spoken, and so deeply in love with honeybees that he spends 12 months of the year traveling across the eastern sea board caring for them! He has bee yards in the US all down the coast and travels around the world sharing his knowledge of honeybees and how he cares for them, or rather, lets them care for themselves. We are very fortunate that he is currently in Calgary and has agreed to come speak at our AGM!
